Cary W. Brooks
Cary W. Brooks founded the BrooksGroup in January, 2012. Mr. Brooks has extensive experience in both prosecution and litigation of intellectual property matters. Mr. Brooks was a shareholder in a midsize law firm prior to starting the BrooksGroup. He also worked for 16 years as a patent attorney for General Motors Corporation where his responsibilities included patent preparation and prosecution, infringement opinions, licensing, acquisitions and divestitures, and major litigation. He served as an instructor for four and a half years in a nationally renowned seminar teaching his peers techniques and strategies for crafting and drafting winning patents. Kenneth F. Brooks
Kenneth F. Brooks joined the Firm when it was formed in 2012 and provides experience as an Associate Attorney with BrooksGroup. Mr. Brooks technical experience includes ferrous metallurgy, exhaust scrubber methods and devices, noise and vibration damping, drivetrain systems, and fuel cell systems. Mr. Brooks law clerk experience includes a strong focus on strategic patent application preparation and prosecution and the importance of lexicology.

Robert C. Brooks
Graduating from Michigan Technological University as a computer engineer and having worked for a year and a half as a software developer for Jackson National Life Insurance, Robert now works for the Firm as a technical advisor and law clerk. With interest in law, electronics and software, Robert has designed and worked with controls and embedded systems as a Project Manager and as Vice President of a student run virtual company at MTU. Laura K. Lutz
Laura K. Lutz joined BrooksGroup in 2013. Her intellectual property law practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts. Prior to pursuing her law degree, Ms. Lutz worked ten years in the automotive industry, most recently as a Product Engineer for the Global Airbag Engineering Team at Key Safety Systems. Her responsibilities included product design, development, and validation of inflatable restraints focusing on curtain and side impact technologies.
