Laura K. Lutz joined BrooksGroup in 2013. Her intellectual property law practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts. Prior to pursuing her law degree, Ms. Lutz worked ten years in the automotive industry, most recently as a Product Engineer for the Global Airbag Engineering Team at Key Safety Systems. Her responsibilities included product design, development, and validation of inflatable restraints focusing on curtain and side impact technologies.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lutz worked as a corporate counsel legal extern for Metalase Technologies.
Ms. Lutz received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. She also received a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and is currently pursuing a Master in Law for Intellectual Property from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Ms. Lutz is licensed to practice in Michigan courts as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark office. She is also a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association.
